Five Considerations Before Implementing a New MarTech Platform

Therefore, it is not uncommon for firms to adopt and migrate to a new solution, only to contemplate a second migration within a year or two, frequently for illogical reasons. Although certain technologies may be more difficult to master, they finally deliver much higher efficiencies. Marketing leaders must remember that investing in initial and ongoing training is equally important as investing in a platform.

When the firm is about to dispose of its technology, it is crucial to pause for a moment and consider the following five questions:

  1. Is the technology itself the source of the problem, or is there another factor at play?
  2. Is there internal resistance to the technology?
  3. Has your team received comprehensive technology training, or do they possess the requisite knowledge and skills?
  4. Can you access any additional resources that could assist with your existing technology?
  5. Do you have attainable objectives and timelines?

More often, the lack of technical training and strategic planning is the problem rather than the technology itself. Undoubtedly, certain solutions lag, while emerging technologies are capable of remarkable accomplishments. However, many brands struggle with the fundamentals; consequently, upgrading to a more sophisticated solution is frequently illogical before determining where you wish to go and what impedes progress.

Conclusion: Intermittently resuming and reconstructing may temporarily create the appearance of progress, but making long-term investments in marketing technology guarantees success. There is a higher chance that you reach your destination more quickly and efficiently.
