McAfee Launches Deepfake Audio Detection Technology at CES 2024 to Combat AI-Generated Scams

McAfee Corp., a global leader in online protection, unveiled Project Mockingbird, an AI-powered Deepfake Audio Detection technology, at the Consumer Electronics Show.

According to the company, the new, proprietary technology was created to protect consumers from the growing threat of cybercriminals using fake, AI-generated audio to conduct frauds that defraud victims of their money and personal information, encourage cyberbullying, and sway public opinion about well-known individuals.

It asserts that as deepfake-driven cyberbullying, reputation manipulation, and investment scams gain traction, an AI-powered combination of contextual, behavioral, and categorical detection models lays the groundwork for protecting online integrity.
