Google Modifies Search Display Formats to Provide Users with More Context

Google has announced a few changes to the way search results are displayed in order to make its listings more transparent and clear.

In order to make it easier for users to quickly identify the website that is associated with each result, Google is first adding site names to search results on mobile. The other significant change worth mentioning is Google’s change of the ad notification from “Ad” to “Sponsored,” which is also visible in the example above.

According to Google, this new label, which is prominently displayed, continues to uphold the requirements for clearly distinguishing itself from search results and advances previous efforts to do so.
