Confirm, founded by industry veterans Kirk Simpson and Peter Carrescia, has launched a portable digital identity solution to improve online marketplace trust and security.

The company said that with the help of cutting-edge identity protocols and user-friendly interfaces, it enables users to create a secure, verified digital ID. Confirm provides additional functions in addition to its central identity features, such as identifying the owner of a Facebook account, setting up payment terms, and scheduling in-person meeting locations.

The company claims that users of Confirm can use official government-issued identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, to create a verified digital ConfirmID. To build trust, the ConfirmID can then be securely shared with others.
