Mailchain Incorporates NEAR Protocol To Enable Multi-Chain, Web3-Native Communication For Builders & Users

Mailchain, the communication layer for Web3, has launched its integration with NEAR Protocol, the scalable, high performance blockchain protocol. This integration enables NEAR developers to add secure and private communication to NEAR-based decentralized applications (dapps) using the Mailchain SDK. NEAR Protocol users can also send and receive web3 email using their “near” blockchain accounts to many other Web3 identities.

Mailchain shares NEAR’s goal to onboard the next billion users to the Open Web. Mailchain is working to ensure these next billion users will be able to communicate with one another in a secure and seamless way.

The Mailchain communication protocol is built to work alongside all other blockchain protocols and supports all other Web3 identities. Its native abstraction layer handles credential verification of identities from other blockchains and uses this layer to encrypt messages and provide additional safety and privacy features to its users. The protocol supports 1:1, 1:many, and group, end-to-end encrypted communication.

The NEAR ecosystem is a growing community of developers, entrepreneurs, and users centering around the NEAR protocol and its capability to become the frontend for the Open Web. It provides a secure and scalable infrastructure for decentralized applications to deploy code and components. Mailchain’s integration with NEAR Protocol provides developers in the NEAR ecosystem access to powerful and secure communication.

NEAR application developers can easily integrate the open source Mailchain SDK into their dapps. The SDK removes any complex operations, handling sign, verify, encrypt, and decrypt functions in just a few lines of code.

“Our vision aligns perfectly with NEAR’s–to onboard the next billion users,” said Tim Boeckmann, CEO of Mailchain. “When building Mailchain, we knew these next billion users would want to communicate with what mattered most to them, their blockchain identities. Mailchain’s secure communication protocol makes this a reality. We believe that this integration is a big step forwards for the developers who are building the next generation of the Internet.”

The Mailchain integration with NEAR Protocol is now live. Developers can get started with the Mailchain SDK by adding it into their application to immediately send messages to their users. Users can create their Mailchain account and register their .near account to start sending and receiving web3 email.
