Cortical.io today announced that it has been selected as a vendor by The Stagwell Marketing Cloud (SMC), a suite of SaaS solutions that powers research, communications, and media activation for in-house marketers. Cortical.io’s technology will be deployed inside SMC’s Comms Tech Unit, integrating Cortical.io’s Natural Language Processing (NLP) functionalities into its market leading comms tech platforms.

After having rigorously tested several solutions, SMC selected Cortical.io’s API to extract and analyze content from customers’ media materials to help power integrated communications campaigns, for example targeting the right creators, podcasters, influencers or media, spending less time manually researching and more time engaging.

Media materials are just one example of unstructured content: they do not follow a standardized format and contain an infinite amount of text variations. This is a challenge for most automation tools which fail at identifying the key information in a constantly changing environment. Not so for Cortical.io, whose NLP technology leverages a proprietary method called Semantic Folding to understand text in its context and accurately process it based on its meaning.

Mansoor Basha, SMC’s Chief Technology Officer, said “We were looking for an API that delivers highly accurate results while remaining affordable. Cortical.io offered the best value and performance compared to other solutions.”

Cortical.io is currently planning a series of APIs that address the most pressing NLP challenges for enterprises, enabling in-house AI and data science teams to build efficient document processing applications. Rainer Kegel, CEO of Cortical.io, said: “The keyword extraction API is just the beginning. In the coming months, we will release several APIs for pre-processing documents, performing basic text operations like language detection and similarity comparison, as well as searching, extracting and classifying complex information. Leveraging our more than 10 years of applied NLP expertise, these APIs will enable our customers to automate document-centric workflows with a high return on investment.”
